Description
Here is an original ad taken from The Saturday Evening Post magazine Dated March 13, 1948 for a Boeing L-15. At the time it was the newest Army Ground Forces liaison plane. It also was designed to meet US Air Force standard requirements. The bottom right picture in the ad shows a "folded" L-15 touring through narrow, winding wooded roads. The ad talks about all its glorious design including, " for use under all conditions from tropical to arctic, the L-15 may be operated with wheels, skis or floats. The whole airplane can be folded up for towing behind a jeep or loading aboard a 2 1/2 ton standard Army truck".The L-15 Scout was the last Boeing aircraft in the single-engine or small-aircraft market. The all-metal, light aircraft for ground observation was neither a bomber nor a four-engine aircraft, but its development was typical of the Boeing effort to diversify after World War II.
